In light of ‘Knee-gate and President Donald Trump, The  American Idol alumni sent a very powerful message while singing the National Anthem on Monday night before the Dallas Cowboys took on the Arizona Cardinals.

“Proverb 31: 8-9” was very clear and visible, referencing a verse in the Book of Proverbs that calls for speaking out against injustice.

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

Social media erupted stating the biblical reference was taking aim at President Donald Trump for his attacks on NFL and NBA athletes who have protested against racial injustice and police violence in America.
